Statutory Bodies

As per the norms and guidelines of University Grants Commission (UGC) and other regulatory authorities, Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya (BVM) Engineering College has constituted the following Statutory Bodies to ensure effective governance, academic excellence, financial transparency, and institutional development.

 

1. Board of Governors (BoG)

The Board of Governors (BoG) is the apex statutory body of the institution. It is responsible for laying down policies, strategic planning, and overall governance of the college.

Functions:

  • Formulation of institutional vision, mission, and strategic plans
  • Approval of academic, administrative, and financial policies
  • Monitoring overall performance and development of the institution
  • Ensuring compliance with UGC, AICTE, and affiliating university norms

 

2. Academic Council (AC)

The Academic Council (AC) is the principal academic body of the institution. It is responsible for maintaining academic standards and fostering academic growth.

Functions:

  • Approval of curricula, syllabi, and academic regulations
  • Review and introduction of new programs and courses
  • Examination reforms and academic calendar approval
  • Promotion of research, innovation, and academic best practices

 

3. Board of Studies (BoS)

The Board of Studies (BoS) operates at the departmental level and plays a vital role in curriculum design and academic enrichment.

Functions:

  • Designing and revising syllabi in line with industry and academic trends
  • Recommending teaching methodologies and assessment techniques
  • Ensuring outcome-based education (OBE) implementation
  • Advising on academic improvements and skill development initiatives

 

4. Finance Committee (FC)

The Finance Committee (FC) is responsible for financial planning and oversight to ensure optimal utilization of resources.

Functions:

  • Preparation and review of annual budgets
  • Monitoring income and expenditure of the institution
  • Advising on financial policies and resource mobilization
  • Ensuring financial transparency and accountability
