Line O Trix
Problem Statement
The objective of this contest is to complete the course in the shortest period of time while accurately tracking the course line from start to finish.Event Description
Be an innovator and walk on the lines of change. A simple event based on robotics. Build a line follower robot, which is capable of following line path which is produced in front of it. The machine has to sense the white colored blocks which would be placed besides the track lines.
Arena Specifications
- The width of all lines is 3cm.
- The lines will be black in color with painted white as background on plywood.
- A track may have arcs with different curvatures linked continuously. The angle of the arc of turn shall be 90, 180 or 270 degrees.
- Crossovers are permitted, but will be at right-angles only. Line Followers shall not turn left or right at a crossover i.e. at least one overlap of track will be there.
Note: Actual Arena will be posted just before 4-5 days of Event Date on website…
Bot Specifications
- Each team is allowed to have only one bot.
- The bot must fit into a cube of dimensions 250 mm x 250 mm x 250 mm (l x b x h).
- The bot must use only on-board power supply. No external off-board power supply is allowed.
- The max voltage difference between any two points must not exceed 24V.
- The bot must be fully autonomous with all powering and motoring mechanisms self-contained.
- The bot must not communicate with any wireless device also.
- The bot cannot be constructed using ready-made Lego kits or any ready-made mechanism.
- Ready-made gearboxes, sensors can be used but no other part of the robot should contain any ready-made components. Simple car bases with no extra features may be used.
Note: If Robot does not follow the required specifications then it will be disqualified.
No human intervention is allowed once the race started.
Check points:
Only two check points are given other than start point and End point. And check points are placed in between is at…
- At 30% distance of total track
- At 60% distance of total track
Restart Allowed: Only 3 restart is allowed from the last check point.
No. of Rounds:
- Elimination Round : 50% of total Track
- Final Round : Full Track
Round Details:
- Round 1 is Elimination round. This round consists of only 50% of the total track with only two checkpoints. Elimination is based on the Timing and penalties.
- Round 2 is Final round. Only qualified teams from round 1 are made eligible for this round. In this round, there is full track to cover with only three checkpoints.
Bonus:
There are some black colored blocks which are placed at several distances, are need to be sense and indicated through LED to gain extra bonus points, which will be considered in final scoring. Such blocks are placed 15 cm distance from the edge of the track. Blocks can be on either sides or both whichever side it is Bot needs to recognize it correctly for BONUS points.
For each correct block sense bot will get bonus of 10 points which will be added in total points.
Penalties:
For each restart a team will have 10 seconds of Penalty which will be added to your total time when final score is to be considered. Other than this there is no Penalty…
Judgments Criteria:
The robot which will cover the given path in shortest possible time with accuracy will be a winner. Bonus and penalties will also be considered. Judges’ decision will be considered as final and undisputable.
Total Time allowed completing the track: 4 minute
Points Calculation Equation:
Total Point = (total time given to complete the track) – (total time taken to complete the Track) + 10*(total block sensed) – 10*(total penalty)The organizers reserve the rights to change any or all of the above rules as they deem fit.
In any case if BOT has damaged the arena, then that team will be immediately got disqualify.
TRIAL Track should be provided for testing of BOT before 1 hour of the Competition. And it will not be allowed to test once the competition is started. If any question contact,
